(to wit) Sarah Diley Eadey< no role > aged 21 years & upwards
singlewoman Upon Oath saith that She never was
Married nor ever obtained any legal Settlement in
her own right that She Father is the legitimate Daughter except living as an hired yearly Servant with her
Uncle Mr Messer No. 41 Elliot's Row in the parish of Saint George and Southwark
of William< no role > & Ann Eadey< no role > or she hath been informed & verily
upwards of a year at the Annual Wages
believes that he said Father is legally Settled in Hitching
of five Guineas
Hertfordshire by renting or House there for several
year whose he was lives
and this Deponent farther
upon her Oath saith that on or about the sixteenth
day of January last at the House of Mr. Croydon in
Holles Street in the parish of St Clement Danes in
the Liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex
she was delivered of a Female Bastard Child which
hath since been half Baptized by the Name of
Susanna< no role > (as this Deponent hath been informed and
believes) and farther saith that the said Child
is Since become chargeable to the Said parish of
Saint Clement Danes and that Joseph Smith< no role > of
No. 2 Wickham place Kent Street Southwark
Carpenter and Builder is the only real and true
father of the said Child of which this Examinant
was delivered as aforesaid he ha having had carnal
knowledge of this Deponents Body sometime in or
about the Month of September 1791 AprilMarch 1792 and at Several
times since at some or one of which times he did
beget the said Child thereon and that he and no
other person is the only real and true father thereof
