Mary Lucas< no role > aged about 40 Years on her Oath says
she never was married and that she lived a Hired Yearly
Servant with Mr. Bass at Knights Coffee House in
Essex Street for Seven Years at the Yearly Wages
of Four Pounds hath Quitted her said Service about
14 Years ago & never after rented House Paid Taxes or
Lived a hired Yearly Servant for one Year says that
on the 6th. Day of September 1767 she was Delivd. of a Female
Bastard Child in the House of Mr. Mills in Milford
Lane in the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the County
of Middlesex which hath since been baptized by the
Name of Jane< no role > and Further Says that one of John Smith< no role >
(who has been gone to India about 2 Years and an
half and where he now is as she believes is the Father
thereof he havg. had Carnal Knowledge of her Body
sometime in the Month of Decr. 66 and at sevl.
different times afterwards at one of which times he
got her with Child of the Female Bastard Child
which she was Delivered as aforesaid and that
the said John Smith< no role > and no other Person is the
real & true Father Thereof
