Mary Berry< no role > aged about 37 Years upon Oath says she
never was Married and that on the 18th, day of September
1760, she was delivered of a female bastard Child in the
House of Mrs. Best in Wych Street in the Parish of Saint
Clement Danes in the Liberty of Westminster which hath
been baptized by the name of Catherine < no role > and that on the 17th.
day of May 1763, she was delivered of a Male bastard
Child in the House of Mr. Chamberlain in St. Clements
Lane in the aforementioned Parish of St. Clement Danes
which hath been baptized by the Name of John Thomas< no role >
and that Maynard Grendon< no role > who was the reputed Father
of both the said bastard Children died about a Month
ago-And further upon her Oath says that she this
Examinant lived a hired Yearly Servant with
Webster Esqr. in Great Marlborough Street in the
Parish of St. James in the Liberty of Westminster
for
two Years and upwards at the Yearly Wages of Six
Pounds, says she served the last nine Months of her
said Service with her said Master in Great Marlborough
Street in the Parish of St. James in the Liberty of Westmr .
& hath quitted said Service about Ten Years, and hath
not since Rented house, paid Taxes or lived a hired
Yearly Servant for one Year.
