The Examination of Mary Burton< no role > Wido . on
the Behalfe of Mary< no role > the Wife of Mathew Hefford< no role >
lodging in the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the
County of Middx taken the 24th. Day of
January 1740 Who upon her Oath saith that
upwards of Six Years ago the above named
Mathew Hefford< no role > rented a House in Pall Mall
in the Parish of St. James in the Liberty of Westmr .
of the Yearly Rent of ten Pounds and upwards &
lived in the same for the Space of 2 Years & upwards
as this Examinant hath been informed & which she
verily beleives And this Examinant further saith
that the said Mathew Hefford< no role > hath not since that
Time rented any house lands or Tenements of the
Yearly Rent of ten Pounds or otherwise gain'd a
Settlement in any other Place to her knowledge or
beleife, That the sd. Matt. Hefford now absconded from
Mary his sd. Wife & she being Sick & poor is not able to
maintaine herselfe.
