Martha Palmer< no role > Aged 23 Years on her Oath says she
never was Married Rented House [..] Paid Taxes or ever lived
a hired yearly for one Year says her Father Jno Palmer< no role > rented
& lived in a House Brighthelmstone at the Yearly Rent of
£10 & Paid Parish Taxes due for the same hath Quitted the said
House about 12 Months ago since which time she never gained
any or Settlement than as aforesaid And further on her
Voluntary Oath says that on the 30th day of April last past
she was delivered of a Male Bastard Child in the House of
Mr Mc Grigger No 2 Plough Court Cary Street which is Intended
to be Baptized by the name of John, and is now Chargeable to the
said Parish of St Clement Danes & likely to Continue so And
further says that one Christopher Cheesewright< no role > Servant who
lately lived with Captn Thornton & who now lives with a
Gentn. who now Uses the St. James's Hotell in the Hay Markett
is the Father thereof he having had Carnal knowledge of her Body
at her Fathers House at Brithelmstone aforesaid in the begining
of September last but the Particular day she does not remember
& at several different times afterwards at one of which times
he got her with Child of the Male Bastard Child of which she
was so delivered as aforesaid & that the said Christopher
Cheesewright
< no role > & no or Person did beget the same & that he
is the real & true Father thereof
