to wit Catharine Neff< no role > aged about 23 Years On her Oath says she never was
Married rented, House or paid Taxes says she lived a
hired Yearly Servant with one Mr. Montgomery a hair
Merchant in the Strand in the Parish of St. Clement
Danes in the County of Middx Upwards of One Year
at the Yearly Wages of Six pounds hath quitted her
said Service about a Year and a half ago Since which
time she hath gained no Other Settlement And
further on her Voluntary Oath says she was delived
of a Female Bastard Child on the 4th. of Febry last
in Store Street Hospital which hath been Baptized Mary< no role > which Hospital by Act of
parliamt. is priviledge from any Child being born
therein from gaining any Settlement And further
says that One James Hobbs< no role > a Hair Dresser who
Lodges at One Mr. Shepherds who keeps a public
House in Cross Street Carnaby Markett is the
father thereof he having had Carnal Knowledge
of her Body in her last Masters House in Carey
Street some time in the Month of June last but the
particular day she does not now Remember and at Sev [..]
Different times afterwards at One of Which times he
get her with Child of the Female Bastard Child of Whe [..]
she was so delivered as afrsd. And that the sd. Jas. Hobbs< no role > and
no Other person did beget the same And that he is the real
& true father thereof
