Says she never was Married, Rented House, or paid Taxes, says she
lived a hired Yearly Servant with one Mrs. Barnes at the sign of the
Kings Arms the Corner of Sidneys Alley near Princes Street Leicester
fields in the Parish of St Anns Soho in the Liberty of Westminster
for fourteen Months or thereabouts at the Yearly Wages of five
pounds hath Quitted her said Service upwards of four Years ago
& hath not since she Quitted the same ever rented house paid Taxes
or done any other act whereby to gain a Subsequent Settlement, And
further on her Voluntary Oath says that on the 10th day of June
1774 she was delivered of a Male Bastard Child in Wych Alley
Wych Street which has since been baptized by the Name of James< no role > . And
further says that one James Lacey< no role > a Shoemaker who lately lived
with this Examinant in Wych Alley aforesaid had Carnal Knowledge
of her Body on the 21st day of August 1773 and has ever since Cohabited
with him, and that the said James Lacey< no role > and no other Person did
beget the same & that he is the real and true father thereof.
