Mary Roades upon Oath saith she never
was married Says she was delivered of a Female
Bastard Child at Mr. Cannons in Maypole Alley in
the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the Liberty
of Westminster on the 17th. Day of Augt. 1746
which has been Baptized Mary< no role > and is likely
to become Chargeable to the sd. Parish of Saint
Clement Danes she being Poor and unable to
maintain the same and that one Edward
Newberry
< no role > a Servant to Mr. Harcourt in
Bedford Row is the Reputed father this [..]
Examinant having lived a fellow Servt. with
the sd. Edward Newberry< no role > at Mr. Harcourts aforesd.
there he became acquainted with her and had
Carnal knowledge of her Body in the month
of November 1745 & at sevll. other times
afterwards at one of which times he got her
with Child of the sd. female Bastard Child of
which she was Delivered as aforesaid and
that he the said Edward Newberry< no role > & no other
Person is the true and reall father thereof
