Edward Burbidge< no role > one of theBedles Beadles of
the parish of St Clement Danes in the
County of Middlesex (for and on behalf of
Thomas Pain< no role > a Poor Man now lying Ill in the said parish)
Maketh Oath and saith that he this Examinant
hath been Informed by the Mother of the said
Thomas Pain< no role > and which he verily believes to
be true, that the said Thomas Pain< no role > is of the Age of
26 Yearsofor thereabouts, is the legitimate
Son of Samuel< no role > and Elizabeth Pain< no role > , was Born
at the House of Mr.. Clarke's in Vine Street in
the parish of St John in the Liberty of Westmr.
and County of Middlesex where his said Father
& Mother then lodged and Resided, that he hath
notnot ever done any Act or thing whereby
to the best of his Knowledge he might have
acquired any legal Settlement in his own
Right nor Knows of any settlement he is
Intitled unto, (except by Birth as aforesaid) And
that he is Poor, Ill and unable to maintain
himself
