Informations of Witnesses taken
this fifth day of August 1799 in
the Parish of St. James Westminster
at the House of Samuel Self< no role > the Sign
of the Ship in Carnaby Street before
Anthony Gell< no role > Coroner for the said
City and Liberty touching the
Death of Jane Rolf then and
there lying dead as follow
to Wit.

James Bartlett< no role > No. 46 Carnaby Street Pork
Cutter being sworn deposeth as follows to wit
That the deceased her lodged at my house about three
Months and was very much given to drinking
and [..] hasbeen informed that she was subject to
Fits that I saw her about nine on Saturday Night
last (the 3d Instant) when she appeared to be
quite sober that Yesterday morning about 1/4
before six I got up and upon opening my shop
Door in the Passage I found the deceased lying
motionless in the Passageandagainst my door
upon which I moved her from thence a Little way
to the other side of the Passage imagining she was
much intoxicated with Liquor as I had two or three
times
