then some of the said Persons (about nine
in Number) [..] attacked their
Deponent with Blodgrous and two Cutlasses
and one of then pulled this Deponents Hat
over his Faces and some of them struck him
with Bledgeons and [..] Cutlasses from which
he received two Slight Scratches in his
left Church and several Blows about
his head and Body and then they all
ran out of the Room and made their
escape and this Deponent saw no
more of then that Night, and this
Deponent cannot take upon him to
[..] identify any of the Persons who
cut and but the deccared or who, shurch
him with Bledgeons or Cut lasses

the Parish of Bow Street Covent Garden
being sworn deposeth that on the said
twenty sixth day of December he went
with the rest of his Brother Officers of
the Patrole that Night to the said
Kings Arms Alehouse in Maynard
Street pursuant to the aforesaid Search
Warrant and in the first place he went up
Stairs with the said Mr. Midlar and
secured the Men and one Woman (Namely
the Chair Woman) and then he this Depont.
went down Stairs by himself into the
Tap Roomandwhen one of the Irish-
men who had just before been wounded about his head
came into the Tap Room and after using
same foul Language he went [..]
and in about ten Minutes afterwards
ten or a Dozen Irishmen came into the
said Tap Room when Stair Deponent
was standing at the Fire upon which
this Deponent rushed by their and ran up
