Informations of Witnesses taken
this 21st. April 1797 in the Parish of
St. Margaret Westmr at the Dwelling
house of John Weems< no role > the Sign of the
Green Coat Boy Tothill Fields [..]
Bridewell [..] before Anthy Gell< no role > his
Majestys Coroner for the said City &
Liberty touching the Death of James
Cornish
< no role > a Prisoner in Tothill Fields
Bridewell then and there lying dead
as follow to wit.

William Bryant< no role > Turnkey & Tothill Fields
Bridewell being sworn deposeth that on the
22d day of March last the deceased committed
to Bridewell by Cromby Thos. Kerby< no role > and John
Walker
< no role > [..] two of his Majesty Justices of
the Peace in & for the City & Liberty of Westmr
for a Vagabond as stated in two commitment
at which time he had the Gaut and which
Disorder gradually increased upon him and that
about a Quarter after five o'Clock this morng
he departed this Life, and that his wife has
been with him Night and day for for seven
days last past and he has been [..] attended
by Mr Hanburg the Apothecary and every
Attention paid that would be but with out the
wished for Effect.
