Informations of Witness
taken this 11 day of august
1795 at the Dwelling House of Wm spittle< no role > the Sign of the
Bricklayer arms in Henton Ground Parish of St. John
on view of the Body of Mary< no role > the Wife of
Carvin

Wm Carwin< no role > a lodger with Mrs. Harris in thurton Ground
Farrier being sworn deponent Saith that he was Married to the
Deced on the 18 May last. but that she was married
Sometime past to one HarristhatSomeon last [..]
Weekshehearing some Rats, she said she Would Set
Some Shift this Dept. went out that Morning to Work
as usual & returned abt. up part 1 O'Clock to Dinner
He does not think any thing was particular the Matter with
her he dined with her that day [..] very good Friend
& very comportables together this Dept. left her after
Dinner & went whin Work & returned home between Sea
& 7 O'Clock & there found his Wife reaching much. she had
some Vinagel about up a Sillthe Continued ill all all
that night & [..] eed untill the Day ofter Deathon the
Deced. did not Set better he went to Mr. Titchman in Dartmouth
St. an apothecary but led in not attend her She Continues
ill from the Wednesday till yesterday though when she died
Mr Fitchman said that he had Sold to a Woman (whom he
supposed to be his Wife) three Pennyworth of [..] the Deced
told this Dept. she had taken something but shed of not
know what. He has not known to think that the Deced
took any of the arsenic or does he know what became
of it. He has no reason to believe but that she died a natl
Death this Dept. Saith that abt. 3 Weeks after his Marriages
she Dedced got up one night abt. 12 O'Clock & said she was going to take
Walk he however Prevented her & prevailed on her to go to Bed
