lifted the deceased from off the Floor and
placed him upon the seat in the sd Closet
when she perceived that the deceased had
cut his Throat, which she imagines he had
done with a Razor which was found in a
wash handthe Bason ofonthe said Closet wherein
and the deceased was then Motionless and quite dead
was a great Quantity of Blood then
this Deponent went away to attend to
the business in the house.

That about 3 Months ago the deceased
was ill and ever since that time he
has been any low spirited Melanchally andandde [..]
and appeared to be much disturbed in his
Mind and very different to what he used
to be before his illness being heretofore of
a cheerful disposition.

Surgeon being sworn deposeth that
[..] about half past ten o'Clock
Yesterday morning (ye. 2d. Augt. Instant)
he was sent for to Lothian's Hotel
to see [..] the deceased, where he found him
in the Water Closet on the First Floor
upon examing his Throat he found
that he had [..] that every [..] Blood
Vessel in those Parts, was decided from which he
saw an imm [..] Quantity of Blood
had fallen upon the Floor, that he
had no Pulse, and upon further
Examination of the [..] Blood wound he
found it unnecessary to make any
Attempts towards restoring him &
this Deponent has no doubt of the deceased having Committed the let upon himself
he mentioned this Circumstance to the
Brother of the deceased who was present
and told him that the wound appeared to havehadbeen
given by a Razor which was found
