for about 1 year last past - the Deced has often
complains of an Astma the Dept. came into the
House, with the Deced on Friday Eveng last and
they found Smith Quarrell immediately
ensued between the Decd. & the sd Smith
[..] a pair of Boots which Smith had total
& belongd to the Deced. They agreed in Consequences
to fight the next morng. & they each laid down
up a Guinea the Dept. believes that Smith
proposed the Battle - the Parties had often
quarrelled on this Subject before they met
Greening to Appointant on Saturday Morng.
this Dept. was present during the Battle
they Shook hands both before & after the
Battle. this Dept does not believe they bore any
County to each other & hereby believes the
only [..] geet the battle was to decide the
Dispute arising from the Circumstances
of the Sale of the Boots. This Dept. believes they
fought near 1 & ½ hour & then the Deced
gullied to his autosomit then Dept Acquirted
the Deced to yield before but he refused
after the battle was over they they shook hands &
passed veryboth went to the same public House
Drank there the Deced has been much indisposed

smel this Battle & confined to his Bed, this Dep [..]
Says that during his Confinement, the said
Smith attended much out the Deced, the Deced died
on Wednesday Morng last.
the Dept. reeallects well that the Decd. did not
complained after the Battle of any Injury or
Hurt reced during the fighting

Westmr being Sworn deposeth & saith that
he opened the Body of the Deced this day
& upon Examination he did find
either any external or internal Marks
Violence capable of producing Death
HisAppearenceDept from appearances should
conceive that the Deced must have
had an Asthma for sometime part
& from theallCircumstance even of his being
afored the Cold for so long or time as
hath been represented in the State in which he was it is very possible
that might tend to hasten Death His Disorder
however was & that Nature which in time
would probably produce Death. This Dept
