great Injury in his right Leg and Thigh that he
was sensible when they brought him into the said
Hospital and continued so until nearly the time
of his death which happen'd on the 17th. Instant

Henry Ward< no role > House Surgeon to the Westmr. Infirmary
being sworndeposethconfirmeth the above
and further deposeth that a Mortification
took place the day after the deceased was brought
into the said Infirmary which gradually
increased and that a Consultation was
held on Monday last, when it appeared that
every means had been before tried to stop the
Mortification but without Effect, and that
an Amputation of his right Leg would not
be of any use towards saving his Life, that
he languished until over four o'Clock on
the 17th. Instt. when he expired. This Deponent
further saith that he came to his death in
consequence of the [..] njury he received by the
falling from the Carriage as aforesaid

This Deponent Henry Ward< no role > further deposeth
that the deceased told him that the Family had
been on a Visit to a Nobleman and in rehirng
he got down from behind the Carriage to open
a Gate thro' which the Carriage passed, and
that he then tried twice to get up behind the
said Carriage but failed, that in endeavourg
to get up the third [..] time he imagined the
Carriage Wheels either went over a Stone
on one side or sunk down in a Rest on the
other by which means he fellwithhead long
between the Wheel and the Springs and
received the above Accident
