Twenty ninth day of May 1788.
at the Parish of St. George Hanover
Square within the Liberty of
Westmr . in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the
death of Ardler (Christian name unknown) lying dead
in the said Parish Liberty and
County.

Keeper of Hyde Park in the Parish of St.
George Hanover Square on his Oath saith
That this Morning about Seven o' Clock
a Man came to Dept. saying that a Man
was Drowned in the Serpentine River in
Hyde Park, upon which Dept. got the Boat
and Rowed to the Deced who was about
fifteen Yards from the Shore and floating
the Head being out of the Water Says that
he took hold of the Deced's Collar, his
Cloaths being on and pulled him to the
Shore in the Parish of St. George Hanover
Square , the Deced being deced and appeared
to have been some days in the Water
but Depont observed no Marks of violence
whatever upon the Deced, Says that
he sent a Person to acquaint Mr. Storey
the Undertaker who sent some Men
to carry the Body away, and Dept. saw
the Body afterwards in Mr Story's House
Says that he found four Duplicates in
Deced's Pockets, and went to inquire
about him, and two Men come to see the
Body at Mr Storey's Said they knew him
and that his name was Ardler,
