An Inquisition Indednted, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Twenty sixth day of October in the twenty seventh
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas
Prickard
< no role > , Gentleman, Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of Henry Pickering< no role > then and there lying dead, upon
the Oath of William Rhodes< no role > , Stephen Spra [..] ris Delancy
James Ross< no role > , George Clarke< no role > , Charles Jones< no role > , Richard Jacob< no role > ,
William Mearns< no role > , Thomas Smith< no role > , Thomas Slack< no role > , Robert Minnit< no role > ,
Richard Garrat< no role > and James Smith< no role > good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Henry Pickering< no role > came to
his Death, do upon their Oath say, That the said Henry Pickering< no role > a
Bricklayer on the said Twenty sixth day of October in the Year
aforesaid, being at Work upon a House in Hill Street in the Parish
aforesaid, within the Liberty and County aforesaid, and standing
upon a Ladder on the [..] and near unto the top of the said
House. It so happened [..] slipped and that the
said Henry Pickering< no role > [..] Casually and by
Misfortune fell off and [..] Ladder into and upon the
Stone Pavement in th [..] before the said House and
thereby then and there [..] Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune
received a Mortal Wound and Fracture in and upon the left
side of his Head of which said Mortal Wound and Fracture he
the said Henry Pickering< no role > then and there instantly died. And so
the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid, do say, that the
said Henry Pickering< no role > [..] Manner and by the Means aforesaid,
Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune Came to his death and
not otherwise.

In Witness whereof as well the said
Coroner , as the said [..] Rhodes Foreman [..] of the said Jurors
on the behalf of himself and the rest of his Follows, in their
Presence, have to this Inquisition [..] their Hands and Seals the
Day Year and Place above mentioned
