John Foster< no role > of London Linnen draper on his Oath saith
that yesterday Morning he was at Breakfast at Mr Brewers
&wasMr. Brewer was relating to him the circumstance of
the Deced's coming to early in the Morning, asking if he was
not disturbedDeponent saw the deced come down about
Nine oClock he came into the Coffee Room and he appeared
to the Deponent to be very Ill, the Deced went in a Coach to
the Hot Bath and on his return Deponent saw him again
when he appeared to he rather worseone Mr. Bayley a
Friend of the Deceds came and asked if he could see a
Gentleman that was come there that had the Jaundice
he was shewed up to the Deceds Apartment, Deponent
fallowed him; Mr Bayley asked the Deced how he could
Come in Such haste from Clapham, he replied he had no
rest there, he asked if he had paid for what he had there
he Swore and Said no, he owed about Two Guineas Mr.
Bayley took some Money and a Pocket Book in which he
believes there were some Bank Notesafter some conversation
Mr. Bayley said he had more influence over Major Scott then
he had and desired he would please to leave the Room
ifas he had private Business with Major ScottDeponent

was in the Deceds Room about 6 or 7 oClock when the Bailiffs were there
[..] Deceased was then in Bed, he told them as did others
in the Room that the Deced was as safe there as if they had
him elsewhere,theyone called Laver said the debt was of to great a Mag [..]
that he must go and they insisted on itwhen he heard the
Cry of Murder he went up and Saw the Deced on the
Floor with his hand c [..] to the Bed Post, and he
was then told the Deced was Dying or justDebtDead
Deponent did not see the Baileffs use any Violence but
[..] that from the precipitate manner in which this
acted he believed it has [..] ned his Death, tho' he believes
the Deced could not have lived long.
