Informations of Witnesses taken upon
Oath this 26th. day of August 1786 at the
Dwelling House of Mr. James Brewer< no role > Known
by the name of the Carlton Hotel in Pall Mall
in the Parish of Saint James in the Liberty of
Westminster . Before Thomas Prickard< no role > -
Gentleman Coroner of our Lord the King for
the City and Liberty of Westminster , on View of
the Body of Major Richard Scolt< no role > then and there
lying Dead. as follow

James Brewer< no role > Master of the Corlton Hotel in Pall mall
St. James Westmr. on his Oath saith that yesterday Morning
between five and 6 o'Clock the Deceased came to his Houses
in a Post Chaice, the Deced askd Deponent if he had a
Hot Bath in the House, he replied notafter some Conve [..]
the Deced had with the Driver, the Deponent came to him again
When the Deced desired to come in, and was shewed up to an
Apartment, Deced appeared to he very Ill, and the Servants
made a [..] in the room according to his desire, he had a
glass of Cherry Brandy before he went up Stairsenquired
about Mr. Scott who kept the House before the Deponent
and rather [..] red in Conservation, between 9 and 10 oClock
the Deced went in a Coach to a Hot Bath, and in about Two
Hours
