Informations taken this fifteenth
day of August 1786 at the Parish of St. George
Hanover Square within the Liberty of
Westmr . in the County of Midsex upon an
Inquisition touching the death of
Alice O' Brien< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

Michael Mc. Donald< no role > a Porter at Ivey Bridge
in the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields on his
Oath saith that Yesterday about Six o' Clock
in the Afternoon Dept. was standing upon the
Platform at Ivey Stairs when he saw
Alice O' Brien< no role > the Deced and two other Girls
Playing in a Barge loaden with Coals
upon the River Thames near Ivey Bridge
in the Parish aforesd, Says that the Deced
had hold of an Empty Barge and pulled
it close to the Barge wherein She was, then
putting her hands upon the Empty, Barge which
was floating, the Barge got further from
the Deced and she fell down between the two
Barges into the River Thames and one
of the other Girls endeaveared to catch her
but Missed, Says that in about twelve
Minutes the Deced was taken up to all
appearance dead, but some Gentleman
endeavored for some time to restore the Deced
to Life but in vain, And Dept. says
that she was Accidentally Drowned.
