Informations taken this fifteenth
day of August 1786 at the Parish of
St. John the Evangelist within the
Liberty of Westmr . in the County of
Middlesex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of a new born
Female Child lying dead in the said
Parish LIberty and County

Luke Ballard< no role > a Laborer , Working for
Mr. Williams a Coal Marchant in Mill
Bank Street in the Parish of St. John the
Evangelist Westmr. Says that being Yesterday
in a Barge at Mr. William's Wharf when
he saw something in a Paper floating
between two Barges Says that with
a stick he took up the Bundle, into
the Barge Says that on untying the
String and opening the Brown Paper
he found it contained the New born
Female Child which appeared to have
been long in the River Thames , the
Arms [..] ing upon the Breast and the Feet
turned upwards on the Legs, Says that
he observed no Marks of violence upon
the Deced, but Dept. cannot say whether
it was born alive, or not
