Margaret within the Liberty of Westmr.
in the County of Midsex upon an
Inquisition touching the death of
James Carey< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

Thomas Prickard< no role > a Lodger at Mr Isaac
Burningham
< no role > of Bridge Street in the Parish
of St. Margaret Westmr . Victualler on his Oath
Saith That on Saturday Night last the fifth
Instant James Carey< no role > the Deced was in Mr.
Burningham's Top room, Says that Yesterday
Morning about Seven o' Clock [..]

he went to call the Maid Servant and
looked into the Soldier's Garret where
Deced stood in the Middle of the Room
(having slept there that Night) andasked
said Good Morrow, I am looking for my
Hat, the Key being then in the Lock on
the outside of the Door, Says that he went
down, Stairs and in about twenty Minutes
a Drummer cause for a Pair of Shoe that were
in Deced's Garret upon which Dept. went
up and found the Garret Door Locked, That
after calling and having no Answer, he
went out of another Garrt. along the
Leads into Deced's Room and found the
Garret Window, and not finding him in
the Room Dept. looked over the Parapet Wall
and saw the Deced in the Dust hole in Mr.
Jarningham's Yard, upon which he came
down and saw the Deced lying in the Dust
hole Bleeding out of the Ears and Nose and
a great Quantity of Blood upon the Ground
