An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint Margaret
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Seventh day of August in the twenty sixth
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas

chosen, who being then and there duly sworn charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said James Carey< no role > came to
h is Death, do upon their Oath say, That the said James Carey< no role > not being
of sound Mind Memory and Understanding but lunatick and
distracted, on the sixth day of August in the Year aforesaid,
from and out of a certain Garret Window in the Dwelling
House of Isaac Heveringham< no role > situate in Bridge Street in
the Parish aforesaid, within the Liberty and County aforesaid,
did violently cast and throw himself to the Ground to and against
the Stone Pavement of the Yard belonging to the said Dwelling
House. by Means of which said Casting and throwing he the
said James Carey< no role > did then and there receive Bruises in the Body
and a mortal Concussion in and upon the Brain of him the said
James Carey< no role > of which said Mortal Bruises and Concussion he the
said James Carey< no role > then and there instantly diedAnd so the
Jurors aforesaid, upon their Oath aforesaid, do say, that the said
James Carey< no role > not being of sound Mind Memory and Understanding
but lunatick and distracted in Manner and by the Means aforesaid,
came to his Death. In Witness whereof as well the said
Coroner, as the said John Caunt< no role > Foreman at the said Jurors on the
behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows in their Presence have
to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals, the Day Year and
Place above written
