where it was upon which she pointed to
the Child, which was rowled up in a Flannell
Petticoat which he opened and Examined
the Female Child and found no Marks of
violence upon her, Says that he asked
Brooks why she did not sent for him
to which she made no Answer, That he
asked her if she had made any Provision
for a Child, to which she Answered that
she had not but meant to go away this
Morning at six o'Clock in a Coach unknown to her
Mistrek, asd to buy ready made Things
for the Child, That she told her Mistress
before that she wished to go away to see
her Friends in Yorkshire , but that her
Mistress would not let her go which Mrs. Pomrey acknowledged to Dept. Says that
the Child was come to Maturity, and
can find no reason why [..] with proper Attention the
Child might not have lived.

on his Oath saith, That about a Quarter
before twelve o'Clock last Night, Mary Linden< no role >
his Fellow Servant came to Dept. Room and
called him (He being in Bed and asleep)
desiring him to go down Stairs and make
a Fire, saying there was a Child born
but that she could not tell whether it was
a Girl or Boy, being much surprized
Says that he went down and, made a Fire
and when he was upon the Stairs he heard
some Cry, but whether it was the Child
or a Cat Dept. cannot say Says that Brooks
did

did her Business yesterday as usual
and Dept. did not suspect her being with
Child, Says that Brooks asked her
Mistress last Sunday to let her go to
see her Mother in Yorkshire but
Mrs. Pomrey would not ket her go.
