was Dressed in Dark or Blule Cloaths, Says
that he went out again in about a Quarter
of an hour, and was then told by one of the
Watchmen that the Man hadmade his Escapebeen rescued
from them all, and that he had a hearty
Drubbing and lost his Lanthorn, Says that
on his return he saw a Watchman (whom
he was told had been stabbed, and was almost
dead) put into a Hackney Coach to be carried
to St. George's Hospital .

Clerk on his Oath saith That on Sunday
Evening last the Tenth instant Dept. was going
home in Oxford Street a little after Eleven
o'Clock when he saw Several Watchmen
together, Rattleing, upon his going to them
he saw a Man in their Custody, That
there were several People in the Street
about the Watchmen and some Souffleing
but Dept. saw no Blow struck Says, that
the People ran out of Oxford Street into a Street
in the Parish of St. Mary le bone which is
opposite to Queen Street Grosvenor Square
and that the Watchmen followed books but [..]
stopped, and upon Dept. asking one of them
how they come to give up the Pursuit, he
answered because such Villains as you
rescued him, Says that he returned into
Oxford Street and on the left side of the
Street in the Parish of St. George Hanover Square
he saw a Crowd around the Deced, who was
sitting on the Ground, (leaning his Head against
a

a Man's Knee) who was Wounded in his
Thigh, upon which he called for some Flour
and put some upon the Wound, and it was
Bound up, Says that the Deced was put
into a Hackney Coach and carried to St.
George's Hospital, but thinks he died before
he got there, this Dept. and John Skurrier< no role >
a Watchman being in the Coach with Deced,
Says that the Watchmen met with some
obstruction from the People in the Pursuit
but Dept. saw no Blown struck, That the
Watchmen or Patrole Men (which they were
Dept. can not talk) had Swords and Horse Pistols
but Dept. did not see them use any of those
Weapons, Says that the Deced was not able
to speak when he first saw him upon the
Ground,

Tristram Harper< no role > House Surgeon at St. Georges
Hospital in the Parish of St. George Hanr. Square
on his Oath saith That a little after Twelve
o'Clock on Sunday Night last Richard Davey< no role > the Deced
was brought to said Hospital, being then dead,
and having a Wound on the inside of the
left Thigh about half way down, being about
one Inch and an half in length, and in Depth
about three Inches, Says that the Great Artery
was totally divided and the Principal Dein
partly divided & that the Wound was the cause
of Deced's death, Says that the wound appears
to have been made with a sharp Instrument
and thinks it probable that it was made with
the Cutlas now produced.
