John Foster< no role > a Soldier of the Second Regt. of Gourds on his Oath
Saith That he went last Night to the Sign of the
Bel in New Tothill Street and found the Deced
there, Says that they drank together about an
hour and an half, that the Deced then went
up Stairs to Bed but Dept. first saw him have
a small price of Paper on his Hand, Says that
in about half an hour after Deced went up
he heard the Report of a Gun above Stairs
Says that he went up with others with a Light
and saw the Deced lying on a Bad in his Room
Bleeding from his Head, Says that the Deced room
three times and then died, and Dept. believes that
he shot himself Says that Deced on being told
last Night that he was to Mount Guard this
Morning, Said that he should not Mount Guard,
and Says that the Deced did not appear to be
in Liquor

Joseph Mobley< no role > of New Tothill Street Victualler on
his Oath saith that the Deced has lodged with him
about a week and was in his Taproom last Night
drunking with Some Company, That the Deced
desired to have a Poor and Ink and a price
of Paper which Dept. gave him and Deced
wrote in the Taproom, And Dept believes that
the price of Paper now shawn him is the
same that Deced wrote there last Night
Says that Deced went up Stairs last Night
and in a very short time he heard the
Report of a Gun in Deced's Room, that he
sent a Man with a Candle up Stairs and
Dept. followed and saw the Deced lying on
his Bed Bleeding from a Wound on the right
side of Deced's Head, and Dept. believes that
the Deced shot himself
