Josiah Day< no role > of Hungerford Market Carpenter
on his Oath saith That a Girl came to Dept last
Night about Ten o'Clock acquainting him that
the Deced had Hanged herself, upon which he
went to Deced's Lodging and found her Hanging
by a small Cord which was fostened to an Iron
Hook drove into the Wainscot and the other
End about her Neck, that he took hold of
the Deced and a Woman cut the Cord, and
Deced was laid upon the Bed, being dead
and Cold. Says that on looking around the
Room he found upon a Table a Letter not Sealed
directed to Mrs. Thomas at Mr. Twitchers Bake
in Mill bank Street Westminster , as follows.
"London January the 22d. 1779. Hungerford Market
"Mr. Garrick Complimet to Mrs Bond and Mrs.
"Thomas and I should be glad yor as [..]
"as you can, and what is in Possion to take
"of and no body else by me

James House< no role > of Hungerford Market Chandler
on his Oath saith that he Deced came into his
Shop yesterday between four and five o'Clock
in the Afternoon and desired Dept. to write
two or three lines for her, And this Dept.
says that the Paper now Shown to him
(Marked A.) was wrote by him by the
desire of the Deced, and that the Mark put
to it was made by the Deced, who appeared
to be then in Liquor.

Frances Fisher< no role > a Lodger in Mr. Wells's House
where the Deced likewise Lodged, on her Oath
saith That she has known the Deced about
four Years, That about a Year and half age
Dept. went into Deced's Room and found her
very low Spirited, and saying that she was
very uneasy in her Mind, and desired Dept
to write a LIne to Mrs. Thomas, to desire her
to

to come to Deced, That a few days after Deced
told Dept. that she was very thankful that the
Depont. came then into her Room, that she
believed she should have destroyed herself
if she had not come, but that some time or
other that would be her End, and that she had
something on her Mind which made her very
uneasy.
