Informations taken his Twelfth day
of January 1779 at the Parish of St. Margaret
within the Liberty of Westmr . in the County
of Midsex upon an In quisition touching
the Death of Robert Bigby< no role > lying dead in
the said Parish Liberty and County

Joseph Gill< no role > at the Satutation in Barton Street
in the Parish of St. John the Evangelist Westmr. on
his Oath saith That Robert Bigby< no role > the Deced Spents
the Evening of last Wednesday (Janary 6th.) at
Depts. Hance, That the Company broke up between
Twelve A One o'Clock, and the Deced & Mr. Hancock
went out together and at the Door Mr. Hancock
Desired Deced to treat him with a Glass, Says
that the Deced took the Key of his Door, (being
the next to Depts.) out of his Rocket and opened
it and they went in, and Dept. heard Mrs.
Bigby say that [..] it was in the bottom of the
Chest, and that he could not come at it, Says
that they returned to Depts. House and they
Drank a Glap of Geneva each, and the
Deced and Mr. Hancock went away together
and in about a Quarter of an hom Dept. heard
some body Knock at the Deced's Door, but be did
not go out, That in about half an hour
after Dept. was standing at the Door with a
Coachman , who said he heard the Noise of
a Bear or some other Noise, Says that he
took his Candle and looking down the Area
of Mr. Bigby's House, where he saw the Deced
lye Bleeding, Says that after knowcking some
time at the Door Mrs Bigby opened the Door
a Dept. [..] [..] unbelbed it and Dept. and two Watchman went to Deced
who was insensible and had a wound on the
right side of his Head, which had beld very insect
Says that the Watchman carried the Deced up
Stairs and he was soon after carried in a
Coach to the Westmr Hospital and Dept. is of
opinion
