to wit.

An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King, at the Parish of Saint Margaret
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter. Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Eighth day of August in the Eighteenth Year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, Great Britain,
France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > , Gentleman ,
Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of
Esther Jones< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of Joseph
Ashmore
< no role > , John Goshing< no role > , William Blow< no role > , Duncan Macintosh< no role > , John Parish< no role > , Joseph Allen< no role >
Joseph Wedgeburrow< no role > , Esau Alfred< no role > , John Vaughan< no role > , Matthew Dyer< no role > , John Davis< no role > , and
Edward Thompson< no role >
good and Lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Esther Jones< no role > came to
h er Death, do open their Oath say

That the said Esther Jones< no role > a very Ancient Woman
on the Seventh day of August in the year aforesaid at the Parish and in the Liberty and County
aforesaid being at a certain Well of Water near to Castle Lane , it so happened that accidentally
Casually and by Misfortune she the said Esther Jones< no role > Slipt and fell into the said Well and in the
Waters thereof was then and there Suffocated and Drowned of which said Suffocation and
Drowning she the said Esther Jones< no role > then and there instantly Died, And so the Jurors aforesaid
on their Oath aforesaid do say that the sad Esther Jones< no role > in manner and by the means aforesaid
accidentally casually and by Misfortune came to her Death and not otherwise. In Witness
Whereof as well the said Coroner as the Foreman of the Jurors aforesaid on behalf of himself
and the rest of the said Jurors have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the Day
Year and at the Place abovementioned.
