Informations taken this Second day of
October 1776 at the Parish of St. Margaret
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County
of Middlesex upon an Inquisition touching
the death of Elenor Stanfeld< no role > lying dead in
the said Parish Liberty and County.

William Winchester< no role > a Lodger at Mr. Stanfeld
Husband to Elenor Stanfeld< no role > the Deced [..] Middle Scotland
Yard on his Oath saith. That on Monday (Sepr. 23d)
last, about nine o' Clock in the Evening, Dept.
was coming down Stairs to his own Apartment
when he saw a Woman at the bottom of the
Stairs appearing to b in Liquor, Says that being
in his own Room, in about a Minute he
heard a Noise in the Passage and went out with
a Candle when he found the Deced in the
Kitchen fallen down having a Wound over
her left Eye. and her left Arm broke, which
Deced said she reced by a Soldier Pushing her
down in Hedge Lane , but did not say that it
was done designedly, Says that the Deced
appeared to be in Liquor, That her Arm was
set & the Wound Dressed, and that the Deced
was the next day taken to the westmr. Hospital
in the Parish of St. Margaret westmr. where he
was informed the Deced died this Morning.
