Samuel Hanbury< no role > House Surgeon at the Westmr
Hospital on his Oath saith That onFridayThursday the 20th.
Instant he went to see the Deced and found him
very ill, his Belly Swelled, which he told Dept. was
occasioned by a blow which he reced in fighting
say that he ordered the Deced what he thought was
proper, saw him again the same Evening, and found
him worce, That the Deced grew worse until he died,
which happened on friday Night the 21st. Instant
Rit Dept. cannot say what his death was owing to

Mary Baxter< no role > Servant to Mr. Mallard at the Black Ball
in Wedd Street on her Oath saith That on Tuesday last
Mr. Cox was drinking with Company at Mr Mallards,
Says that she went into the Backroom and soon after
saw the Deced lying upon his Back in Wood Street and
Mr. Cox upon him, Says that when they were up the
Deced gave out and they both come into the House
where Deced said he was a dead Main, and sat himself
down upon the Floor.

Ann< no role > the widow of Thomas Ring< no role > the Deced of Tufton
Street in the Parish of St. John the Evangelist Westmr.
on her Oath saith That on Tuesday the 18th. Instant she was
with the Deced' at the Sign of the Tun in Tufton Street
That the Deced went out saying that he would go to
the Bull in Wood Street , being then very much in Liquor
Says that in about a Quarter of an hour she was informed
that the Deced was fighting, upon which she went to
the sign of the Bull in Wood Street and in the Taproom
there found the Deced sitting down in a Box, says that
he clapped his Hand to his Stomach saying that he was
a dead man, and slid himself down upon the Floor.
Says that some time after Deced walked home assisted
by Dept. and another women Says that the Deced
complained of his Stomach, That he grew worse and
died on the 21st. Instant in the Evening, says that
beingshe was informed that the Deced had fought with Mr
Cox, and that the Deced desired to see Cox on Tuesday
Evening, That Cox came to the Deced and asked the
Deced if he would forgive him and Deced said, Yes, he
freely forgave him, for he believed that he (Cox) was
in Liquor as well as himself Says, that she afterwards
asked the Deced if he would have her do anything
to [..] Mr Cox in Case he should do otherwise than well,
to which Deced answered that he would not, Says
that the Deced and Cox were well acquainted and
in friendship, That the Deced said that Cox was a
good naturedman, and Dept. says that she never know
of any Quarrel between them
