Informations taken this Fifth day of April
1773 at the Parish of St. Anne within the Liberty
of Westmr . in the County of Middlesex upon an
Inquisition touching the Death of Joseph Pauley< no role >
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty and County

Thomas Harbridge< no role > of Greek Street in the Parish of
St. Anne Westmr . Surgeon on his Oath saith, That on Tuesday
March 30th. this Dept. by the direction of Mr. [..] dice one of
the Overseers of that Parish went to Visit Joseph Pauley the
Deced at his Lodgings at a Perising maker's in Graffon
Street Soho , Says that he found the Deced very ill and
that he appeared to be in the last Stage of Putred
Fever, and was not able to speak and Dept was
informed by the Piriwig maker that Deced had been
ill ten or eleven days, Says that he ordered the
Deced to the Poor House belonging to said Parish
and the next day appeared tobe something better
but not able to speak, that he afterwards grew worse
and died there on Friday Night the Second of April
Instant, Says that he this Dept. and Mr. Hodges a
Surgeon yesterday opened the Body and Head of
the Deced, and did not find the least reason to
believes that the Deced had reced any Injury
whatever, but believes that the Deced died of
a Putrid Fever in the natural Way

John Hodges< no role > of Greek Street Surgeon on his Oath
saith That he with Mr. Harbidge yesterday opened the
Body & Head of the Deced, and found them perfectly
sound free from any Injury whatever, and believes
that the Deced a Natural Death.
