Informations taken this Eight day of July
1772 at the Parish of St. Margaret within the Liberty
of Westmr . in the County of Middlesex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of James Macquarter< no role > lying dead
in the said Parish Liberty and County.

Nicholas James< no role > Assistant Surgeon the the [..] Regiment
of St [..] in the Parish of St. Margaret
Westmr . [..] on his Oath saith that on Monday morning
last July 6th [..] was informed that James Macquarter
the Deced was insensible at his Lodging in New Tothill
Street Westmr and was thought to bodying Says that
he went to the Deced and found him in Bed insensible
and ordered him to be brought to the [..] Hospital which
was done, Says that the Deced's upper Lip was swelled
and Lod [..] and some Congealed Blood covering the
[..] some Blood in the right Nostril, and
that the Deced appeared to have no other Marks of
violence upon him the Deced, and this Dept. says that the
Deced has been time sallivated in the Regimental Hospital
for the V [..] Disease (he being a Fifer in said Regimt.
That after the second Sallivation the Deced was very
much reduced, had an Inflammation upon his Lungs
and a violent Cough whereby the Deced ruptureed
some of the Vessels and frequently afterwards bled
at the Nose, That he has since been at the Hospital
for the Complaints and was in a bad state of Health
and Says that the Deced's death could not be caused
by the Hurt abovementioned upon his Lip, but [..]
is of opinion that it was owing to his ill Habit
of Body.
