Informations taken this Twenty Second
day of June 1772 at the Parish of St. Margaret
within the Liberty of Westmr . in the County
of Middlesex upon an Inquisition touching the
death of Daniel Hudson< no role > lying dead in the
said Parish Liberty and County.

James Carrol< no role > Servant to Mr. Wells at Alices Coffee
House in Old Palace Yard Westmr. on his Oath saith That
a little after Eight o' Clock yesterday Morning Mr. Hudson
late the wife of the Deced Daniel Hudson< no role > stood at the
Coffee House Window, upon which he went to her and
Mr. Hudson asked him if her Husband had left the Key
there, meaning the Key of Deced's apartment in
Westminster (being the old Town Court.) as he used
to do, and on Dept. saying that the Key was not left
Mrs. Hudson said that she believed the Key was in the
Door, upon which Dept by [..] the said Mrs. Hudson went with Mrs. Hudson
immediately, and found the Door of the Apartment
Locked and the Key in the Lock on the inside of the
Door, Says that he called aloud there several times
and having no Answer, he got a small stick which
he put through [..] a Hole in the Door a little below [..] look and with some
difficulty got the Key out of the Door and then with
the Key unlocked the Door, Says that he was then
going to turn towards home, and Mrs. Hudson went
into her Room, and immediately after cryed out,
my Dear Mr. Hudson what have you done, upon which
Dept. turned back and followed Mrs. Hudson into the
Apartment, and then saw the Deced Hanging by a
small Cord, which was fastened to a Chequer Fence
unlosing the Apartment, and about the Deceds next
with a running Hoose, says that he ran home
to acquaint his Master therewith and returned
immediately, and the Maid Servant followed him
who lifted up the Body whilst Dept. untied the Cord
