Informations taken this Twenty third
day of June 1772 at the Parish of St. Martin
in the Fields within the Liberty of Westmr . in
the County of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the Death of George Bayley< no role > lying
dead in the said Parish Liberty & County.

Susannah Bayley< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. wife of John Bayley< no role > of Lloyd's Court
in the Parish of St. Giles in the Fields Buckle maker on
her Oath saith That George Bayley< no role > the Deced was Brother
& Apprentice to this Depts. Husband, Says that the Deced
Dined at home last Sunday June 21st. and afterwards went
out with Thomas Arman< no role > the other Apprentice, it being
then about two o' Clock in the Afternoon, Says that
about four o' Clock the same day Thomas Arman came
home, and that the Deced's Cloaths were brought home at
the same time, Says that on being informed that
the Deced was Drowned she asked said Arman how
he came to go into the water, he Answered that George,
meaning the Deced, was obstinate and would go into
the Water, and that he was Drowned in the Thames.

Thomas Arman< no role > Apprentice to John Bayley< no role > on
his Oath saith That on Sunday last in the Afternoon
he went with the Deced and John Laskelet< no role > to Ivy
Bridge in the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields , says
that they undressed themselves in a Barge and all
went into the Thames to wash themselves, That the
Swam about one hundred yards from the Barge
that he observed the Deced's Strength to fail, and that he
and John Laskelet< no role > did all in their power to save the
Deced, but that the Deced sunk, and was Drowned.
And says that he saw the Deced taken out of the
Thames yesterday June 22d. in the afternoon at Ivy
Bridge, about Thirty Yards from the place where the
Deced Sunk and say that the Deced was Accidenatlly
Drowned.
