Samuel Howard< no role > of Bow Street in the Parish of St.
Paul Covent Garden Surgeon on his Oath saith, That
on the 23d. day of April last he was fetched to the Deced
about Eleven o'Clock in the forenoon, whom he found
in Bed at his House in Kensington Gore , having a large
wound in his Belly, and a considerable Portion of the
Interlines out, Says that he attended the Deced
every day since that time until he died, which
happened on the Sixth day of May Instant, and
Dept. believes that his Death was occasioned by the
Wound abovementioned, Says that the Deced
when Depont. first came to him, was very low
& in a State of despair [..] and desired not to have any Assistance,
[..]

Margaret Pigstock< no role > late Servant to the Deced on her
Oath saith, That the Deced has been ill above twelve
Months of a Billions Cholick, and was in a very low
and Melancholy Way, Says that the Deced was very
bad and in violent pain with his Complaint on Wednesday
last was fortnight, and went into Bed about Eleven
o'Clock in the Forenoon, that he lay in Bed that Afternoon
and the Night, Says that about Six o'Clock the next
Morning Dept. went into Deced's Room as usual to
enquire [..] he was, when Deced desired to see Mrs.
Vitu his Wife, who went to him, and Dept. followed
Says that Deced said I am going to die, saying that he
had a reason for saying so & had made away with himself that he put the Bed Clothes
off him, and that Dept. observed a Wound in Deced's
Belly, which Dept. said he had given unto himself, about
Twelve o'Clock at Night, Says that the Deced would
not tell his Wife when she asked him, what he did
it

it with, but desired her to be quiet and to let him
alone. and afterwards said to Dept. that he wished
he had not spoke of it to his Wife, Says, that she does
believe that the Deced gave himself the wound above
mentioned, and that the Deced two or three days
afterwards, when in his Senses, said that he hoped
God would forgive him for having committed that ra [..]
Act, And says that she heard the Deced say several
times after his violent pains & Reachings were over that he
wished he was dead.
