Information taken this Ninth day of May 1772
at the Parish of St. George Hanover Square within the
Liberty of Westmr . in the County of Midsex upon an
Inquisition touching the death of a Man unknown Lying
dead in the said Parish Liberty and County.

Nicholas Pelyne< no role > Servant to Mr. Moon Keeper of Hyde Park
on his Oath saith That on Wednesday Evening last (May 6.) about
Seven o'Clock a Gentleman & Servant came to Dept. who was in
his Master's Garden) and acquainted him of a Man being in the
Serpentine River in Hyde Park and desired Dept. to take the Boat
there, Says that there being no Sculls in the Boat, Dept. went in
the Gentlyman's Servant and saw the Deced in the River near
the Water House, not above two or three Yards from the Shore,
Says that he went into the River and got hold of Deced's Coat
and pulled him to the Deced appeared to be but not cold and Dept.
observed no Marks of violence upon him.
