chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and Charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said

came to
his Death, do upon their Oath Say,
That the said Joshua Prestage< no role >
not being of Sound
Mind Memory and Understanding but Lunatic and Distracted on the Twentieth day of July in the Year
aforesaid at the Parish and in the Liberty aforesaid in a certain Room called the Auction Room part of the
dwelling House of James Christie< no role >
Auckinson there situate with a certain Knife made of Iron and Steel
which he the said Joshua Prestage< no role >
then and there had and held in his Right hand, the Throat or Gullet of him
the said Joshua Prestage< no role >
did then and there Strike Stab and penatrate thereby, then and there giving unto
himself the said Joshua Prestage< no role >
with the Knife aforesaid in and upon the Throat or Gullet of him the
did Joshua Prestage one Mortal Wound of the Length of Three Inches and of the Depth of One Inch
of which said Mortal wound he the said Joshua Prestage< no role >
did Languish and Languishing did Live for the
space of half an Hour or thereabouts, and then in the Dwelling House of the said J [..] nes Christie in the
Parish and in the Liberty aforesaid Died And to the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do Say
that the said Joshua Prestage not being of Sound Mind Memory and understanding but Lunatic and distracted
in manner and by the Means aforesaid did Kill himself. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as
the Foreman of the Jurors aforesaid have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the day and Year
first above written
