Informations taken this 30th. day of June 1769
at the Parish of St. John the Evangelist within the
City & Liberty of Westmr . in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the Death of Thomas
Spurrett
< no role > lying dead in the said Parish City Liberty
and County.

William Mc. Pherson< no role > apprentice to John Mc lane< no role > of
Newport Street Cabinet maker on his Oath saith That
on Sunday last June 25. after he had been in St. John's Church
he went to Parliament Streets where the Deced came
to him, Says that a Waterman an brought a boat there
with a Fare and when the Company were out, the
waterman gave the Deced leave to go into the Boat
to Row but do charged not to go out of call, Says that
the Deced, went into the Boat with this Dept. and his
Brother Daniel Mc. Pherson< no role > , and that this Dept. Rowed
while the Deced Steered the Boat with an Oar, standing
in the Sterw, Says that the Deced last hold of the
Oar and in Catching at it (as Dept believes) the
Deced fell into the Thames, and there SwornRoweda little
time but was drove under a Lighter (as Dept. believes)
and Dept. did not afterwards see him and believes
that he must have been there Drowned being in
the Parish of St. John the Evangelist Westmr.
