Informations taken this Thirtieth day of
September 1766 at the Parish of St. Margaret
within the City and Liberty of Westmr. in the County
of Middlesex on an Inquisition touching the Death
of Richard Clements< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish City Liberty and County

John Redshaw< no role > of Pimlico in the parish of St. George Hanover
Square Carpenter on his Oath saith, That he was at weak on
the third day of this Instant (as Dept. Shinks)for his Majestysfor Mr. Peale and There
upon a Chapel called the Queen's Chapel in the Field at Pimlico
in the said Parish of St. George Hanover Square , And that
Richard Clements< no role > the Deced was likewise thou' at Work on
the said Chapel Says that this Deponent, the Deced, and
several other Carpenters carried up, several pieces of
Timber called Principals, and fixed them upon said Chapel,
Says that with the same Tackle, they carried up another
pair of principals, the Deced then being upon thewalls
Gable End of the Wall of the said Chapel, Says that a Rope
With which they guided the Principals broke, and
one large piece of Timber (being part of the said principal
fell against the right Leg of the said Richard Clements< no role > ,
by which the said Right Leg of the Deced was broke, upon
which Deced cried out, Says that the Deced was let down
by Cords to the Ground, and immediately carried away
upon Mens shoulders to the Infirmary in James Street< no role >
Westmr. where Deced was put into Bed. Says that he
saw Deced in the Infirmary several times and that
he died at the Hospital last Night about six o'Clock Says that the Deced
and the other Workmen were sober at the time the Accident
happened.
