Informations of Witnesses taken this Eighth
day of March 1765 at the Parish of St. Martin
in the Fields within the Liberty of Westmr in the
County of Middlesex on an Inquisition taken
on View of the Body of a New born Male Child
lying Dead in the said Parish Liberty and County.

Edward Parrott< no role > Surgeon in Lancaster Court in the
Parish of St. Martins in the Fields on his Oath saith, that
he Examined the Deced this day, and is of Opinion that
the said Male Child was not come to Maturity and that
the said Male Child was born Dead and Says that he
found no Marks of Violence upon the Body of the said Child.

James Rawlins< no role > one of the Watchmen belonging to
St. Martin's Parish on his Oath saith that between Nine
and ten o Clock last Night Deponent was in the Watchhouse belonging
to said Parish, and that a Man (which he believes to be
John Newell< no role > ) there said that a Coffin lay in the Church
Yard with a Dead Child in it, Says that he and John
Newell
< no role > immediately went into the Church Yard and there
found near St. Martins Church on the South side thereof [..] Coffin, which Deced
opened and then found a Male Child therein, in a
Shroudand saw Dust under it,Dept. says that the
Child was Dead, but Dept. thought that it was not quite Cold,
Says that they left the Child there and returned into
the Watch house, Says that the Beadle sent said John
Newell from the watch house to the Church Wardens for
an Order to remove the Child, Says that in about a
Quarter of an hour said Newell, returned with an
Order from the Church Wardens and brought the Coffin
with the Deced in it into the Watchhouse, Says that soon
after Said John Newell< no role > took away the said Child to
carry it into the Workhouse as Dept. believes.
