An Inquisition Indented taken for Our Soverign Lord the
King at the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields , within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the
Collegiate Church of St. Peter Westminster in the County of Middlesex , the Eighth day of
Marchin the Fifthyear of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third
by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth
before Thomas Prickard< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty
on View of the Body of New born Male Child then and there lying Dead, upon the Oath of
William Jeeves< no role > , John Reeves< no role > , Thomas Abbott< no role > , John Yanor< no role > , Robert Saunders< no role > , Thomas Underwood< no role > ,
Thomas Lewis< no role > , William Morrill< no role > , Robert Knipe< no role > , Richard Prosser< no role > , William Tripp< no role > , Darby Murphy< no role > ,
Robert Corn< no role > , and John Gardiner< no role > ,good and lawfull Men of the said Liberty duly chosen
who being then and there duly Sworn and Charged to inquire for Our said Lord the King, when, how and by
what Means, the said New born Male Childcame to his Death, do upon their Oath say, That the
said New born Male Child on the Seventh day of March in the year aforesaid, was found dead in a Coffin, in the
Footway or Passage leading into Lancaster Court, on the South side of the Parish Church of
St. Martin in the Fields , in the Parish Liberty and County aforesaid, That no Marks of
Violence appeared on the said New born Male Child, and that the said Male Child was not
come to Maturity, and was not born alive. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath
aforesaid do say, that the said Male Child was Dead born. In Witness whereof as well
the said Coroner, as the said William Jeeves< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors, on the behalf of
himself and the rest of his said Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their
Hands and Seals the Day year and Place first above written
