William Dick< no role > of Parliament Street , one of His
Majesty's Messengers on his Oath saith, That Yesterday
Afternoon about two o' Clock being in his own House
he saw a pair of Horses drawing a Chariot down
Bridge Street, Says that Deced crossed the End of
Parliament Street towards the Sun Tavern just as
the Horses drawing the said Chariot were turning the
Corner from Bridge Street into Parliament Street
says that the Coachman caf [..] et to Deced, but that
the Deced did not get out of the way (which he might
then have done as Deponent believes) says that the
Deced run against the off Horse in the Chariot, and
was forced to the Ground by said Horse, says that
the Coachman immediately stopped the Horses, and
that the said Off Horse Plunged with his Feet and
fractured the Deced's Skull on the right side of his Head that
the Deced lay in the Street motionless for some time
and Dept was informed that the Deced afterwards died.
in the said Street of the said Fracture. Deponent says that the Coachman
drove a very gentle Trot when he first saw him
and verily believes that the Coachman had no intention
to hunt the deced.
