Informations taken this fifth day of October
1763 at the Parish of St. Margaret within the
City and Liberty of Westmr . on an Inquisition
taken on View of the Body of John Day< no role > lying
Dead in the said Parish.

Thomas Marsden< no role > belonging to the Exchequer
on the Oath saith, That Yesterday about two o Clock in the Afternoon
Deponent was in Parliament Street , and saw a Chariot
drawn by a pair of Bay Horses, and one Gentlemen
in the Chariot, whom Deponent did not know, the
Horses were coming from the Bridge along Bridge
Street a Moderate pace; says that in turning the
Corner into Parliament Street , the Deced came across [..] Said
Street before the Horses from the House in the Occupation of
Mr. Baker towards the Inn Tavern , Says that the
Coachman that drove the Horses upon seeing the Deced
crossing before the Horses, called out to Deced, to keeper
out of the way (as he believes ) says that several people
at warkthen likewise called out to Deced, but says
that Deced did not got away, as he might then have
done, but run against the off Horse, and says that
the said Horse Forced Deced down to the Ground,
says that the Cachman immediately stopped the Horses
and says that the off Horse plunged one of his fore
feet and hit the deced (who then lay upon the Ground)
upon the right side of the Head, and by the force of the
Plunge fractured the skull of the Deced, says that
the Deced lay Motinless afterwards upon the Ground
and in a short time Died. Deponent says that he
verily believes the Coachman did every thing in his Power to prevent
the Accident,
