good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly Sworn and charged
to inquire for our said Lord the King, when how and by what means the said

came to his Death, Do upon their Oath say, That the said James Godman on the Ninth day of may in the
Year aforesaid, not being of sound Mind Memory and Understanding, but Lunatick and Distracted, at the Parish
aforesaid in the Liberty and County aforesaid, a certain Cord over the Edge of a Door in the Dwelling House of

his Mother, situate at Knight bridge
in the said Parish, did fix and round his Neck did then
and there faster, and himself with the Cord aforesaid then and there did Hang Suffocate Choak and Strange
Of which said Hanging Suffocating Choaking and Strangling he the said James Godman then
and there Died: And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say, that the said
James Godman not being of sound Mind Memory and Understanding, but Lunatick and Distraded
in manner and by the Means aforesaid, did kill himself. In Witness whereof as well
