Upon Reading the Humble peticon of Elizabeth house Exhibited
to this Court thereby She [..] ing that by Indre bearing date the 8th day
of 1743 the sd Elizth licence was bound apprentice to John Hankinson< no role >
of the parish of St. Margarett Westmr to learn the art of an Embroider
That abt 12 months since the sd Elizth Mence master Entered as a
Soldier & went abroad & lett the sd. Elizth hence unproveded for & destitate
That the sd Elizth Mence Master had not Instructed her in his business
whereby she conceived herself greatly Injured therefore humbly proped
this Court would take the premes into Consideration & discharge her from
her sd Indre of Apprenticeship whereupon the sd John Hankinson was
ordered to attend this Court this day & all other persons concerned to
Answr the sd petition & shew Cause why the sd Petitioner Elizth Mence should
not be discharged from her Indre of Apprenticeship to the sd John
Hankinson Nor< no role > Upon hearing what was alledged by the sd
peticoner touching the premes and it appearing to this Court upon
the Oath of Robert Barnard< no role > that he had used his utmoster
endeavours to find the sd John Hankinson< no role > but cannot nor get any
Information where he is or may be found that on the 9th day of this [..]
october he the sd Robt Barnard left at the late Habitation of the sd John Hankinson< no role > in the
Bowling Alley westmr a true Copy of the sd peticon & order that being the
last place of abroad of the sd John Hankinson< no role > and the sd John Hankinson< no role >
not appearing And on Examination into the hath of the premes and
for as much as it appeareth to this Court that the allegations
continued in the sd. peticon are true and for that the sd John Hankinson< no role >
doth not attend this Court to shew Cause or any person on his behalf
