4 Resolved yt. it is ye opinion of ys Court yt. ye method of Pareding
by prsentmt. as directed by ye 2d. Sect of ye Statute of ye 2d. of
the King is defective in that it admitts of two great delay & thereby bad pavemt.
tho prsentedare not amended tillmay continue so for near
6 months after Such prsentmt for if a presentmt is made to ye Justices at a Sprat
Lessions held Soon after a qr. Sessions & by them certified
to [..] yefall ofnext qr. Sess & ye party then fined for
the Same yet ye party so fined [..] will be excused paying
yeSamefine if ye pavemt. is repaired & ye Same certified so
to be by 2 Justices to ye sd. 2d. qr. Sessions after such prsentmt

5 Resolved that it is ye ops of ye Court yt ye power given by
ye 3d. Section of ye Same Statute to ye Justices to direct ye surveyrs. to causebaddefects pavements to
be repaired (after 20 days notice given thereof in the Church)
at ye charges of ye pson who ought to repair ye Same is
greatly defective because there is no power given
thereby to compell paymt. by thereof by such psons
who ought to repair the Same

6 Resolved yt. it is ye op: of ye Colt yt. ye Pvision made by Proossoe in the
4th. Sect of ye same Statute for paymtof money [..] by ye
Surveyrs. for repairing defect in pavemt or for new paveing (where
ye Justices shall so order) is too great a charge for Such
Surveyrs. to bear & ye rather because if houses should stand long empty
(as in some party of ye town they too often doe) they will be
long out of their money &in dangersome times in danger
of looseing itifwhich their circumstances will Seldom
