Upon complaint made to this Court that the prsent Church Warden and
Overseers of the poor of the Parish of St. Margaret Westmr in this Liberty
had by Indenture dated the Eleventh day July last claud estinely and unprudently
put and placed out out Richard Meredith< no role > a poor Child belonging to the bond
parish aged five Years and a half or there about without the consent of his
Sister and related (his parents being dead) ad an Apprentice to one John
Conyer of the parish of St. Giles in the fields in the said Country of Middlx
Chimney Sweeper untill the said Child Should Attain his ago of four and
Twenty Years And upon hearing of the Major part of the said Overseers of
the poor and examination of the said Matter Itt. appeared to thire Court that the
said Church Warden and overseers of that poor had not given to Thomas
Railton & Thomas Burden< no role > Esqr . two of the Justice of the peace for this Liberty
(Quey unns) (who Signed the said Indenture) a true account of the age of the
said Child and whether his said Sister and consented to the placeing
him out an Apprentice to the said Conyor and of the Condicon & circumstances
of the said John Conyer< no role > to whom the said Child was So platted out as aforesaid
where upon the said Justice declared they were surprised and imposed upon by
the said Church Warden & Oversees or their Agent in this matter And the
said Child being now in Court & appearing to be very tender years and
too young and yett to be putt out Apprentice And the wife of one John
Blunn
< no role > of the parish of St. Thomas Westmr. in this Liberty Brazier appearing
in Court and Declaring that her said Husband being a relacon of the said
Child was willing to take and receive him into his care and to being him rep
to some honest trade or imployment whereby he might be capable of getting
