Mr. Nicholas William Lewis< no role > and Mr. Robert Smith< no role >
Attornies at Law were severally read praying to be
elected Clerk and Steward of Courts to this Hospital
and the Petitions of Mr. John Birch< no role > Mr. George
Chandler
< no role > Mr. Henry Cline< no role > Mr. Willm. Cooper< no role >
and Mr. John Waring< no role > Surgeons were also severally
read praying to be elected Surgeon to this Hospital.

After which Mr. Treasurer informed
the Court that he had authority from Mr. John
Birch Mr. George Chandler Mr. Henry Cline and
Mr. William Cooper to withdraw their Petitions
being unwilling to trouble the Court with Ballothing
for them at this time in hopes of their favor on a
future occasion Whereupon their Petitions were
withdrawn accordingly and Mr. John Waring
being then the only Candidate
He was unanimously chosen to the sd. office of
Surgeon during the pleasure of this Court and he
was called in and acquainted with his election.

The Court then proceeded to the election
by Ballot of a Clerk and Steward of Courts to this
Hospital And upon casting up the Ballot it
appeared that the Numbers were for Mr. Cromwell
199 for Mr. Lewis 29 and for Mr. Smith 49
Whereupon Mr. Cromwell was declared to be duly
elected to the said Office to hold the same during
the pleasure of this Court And he was called in
and acquainted with his election.
